What are some of your favorite rounds to run thru it?
I don't own one myself, but have several buddies that do. (And a buddy with a 212) And a 220 will be the next new gun I buy. I hunt a piece that's shotgun only and have done a lot of research. I was between the h&r slughunter and the Savage 220 for a little while. But settled on the 220 after researching and talking with friends. Guys who's word I trust, say with Accutips, it's a 250+ yard setup. Easy. For me, that's more than I'll ever need. What have you been hearing? What made you settle on the Savage?

I had the savage slug warrior 210 in 12ga. It was very accurate but no pleasure to shoot. I even added 2lbs of shot to the stock the help with recoil. That made it no fun to carry or shoot.

Now I have a 220 and it is much more enjoyable.
Mine like remington accutips.
In my current slug gun I sure do like those accutips I was hoping to hear that!

I'm hearing the same stuff you are pal! I wanted a browning slugger but apparently they got discontinued and everybody around the ole inter webs scream the savage is a tack driver! My current set up is an 1100 with a Hastings slug barrel but it's a dear gun to me and I would like to retire it to dove and an easier life! Basically I just want a new slug gun and think it would be awesome to have a bolt action slug gun lol

Oh, and start rat-holing some of them accutips now. Off-season is the best time to get them. I'm on ammoseek a couple times a week looking.

220. I have used the accutips, but I'm not impressed with their performance on deer. I switched to the federal trophy copper, and have the same accuracy. The performance on deer are much better.

I have had the Savage 220 for years , I shoot the Federal trophy copper or the Barnes vor tx expanders. These two slugs shoot virtually the same out of the gun. The 220 is so accurate it will amaze you at times. My uncle has the same gun and shoots the accutips also very accurate. All the slugs I mentioned we shoot in ours are 3 inch shells.

The two shells recommended back when I bought mine was the old Federal Barnes expander or the Accutips. Federal come out with the trophy copper and it shot virtually the same as the old Federal Barnes expander that they quit making. The Barnes vor tx reminds me of the old federal expander. All are great choices! Good luck
