One of these days I'll kill one and have it mounted. I'm not a duck hunter but think it's the prettiest duck out there. We saw a couple groups flying around at a place I dove hunted last week so hoping to maybe go there at some point.

Early season woodies are for eating, not mounting, unfortunately. You'll occasionally see a bird with decent color but they're full of blood quills right now because they're molting.

Ate my 2 that very afternoon. Doesn't get much better. A fine steak.

I have not thought about it much, our bottoms/duck hole has been dry most of the summer.
