Man and his best friend rented two pontoons for Saturday.
We split it all up and everyone paid their share.
Just talked to him and the refueling fee was $120 šŸ˜”

That's just downright sorry.
We probably ran the motor an hour all day.

I just had to laugh.

The markup is pretty high at Marina's . It's the American way Supply + Demand = Price. Not many places to get Gas on the Lake. We have a coupon for a free day of pontoon use. Planning on using it this Fall. I thank You for the warning. Think I'll put a couple of gas cans in the truck and do my own top off when we are done.

we rented one from birdsong a few years back and they topped it off right in front of us, only like 20 bucks. i wonder if marina gas is over 10 bucks a gallon yet.

buchanon? want to feel raped, let them work on a boat for you.
Actually that's where they normally rent from but they were booked up.
They used Paris Landing this time.

Last year his buddy got hammered so Man was doing the driving and when they went to budweiser beach he didn't trim the motor up enough and put a literal "nick" on it. Took it back to buchanon and they charged him for it.
Cost him almost $500

Was it a set fee (like purchasing the tank of gas that car rental companies offer) or was this the actual cost for filling the boats back up?

A related story:

I rented a boat in the Florida Keys for several days and after my first short run back to where I was staying I decided to fill it up before going out again. I figured that my initial use should have used about 4 gallons; it took around 20. I am positive that the tank was not full when I picked the boat up for rental. It was supposed to be full and of course the gauge indicated full. I was responsible for topping it off when I returned the boat so the extra gas was on me unless I could add fuel until the gauge indicated full.

Boat gauges are notorious for being inaccurate. The boat should be topped off before renting it out and I'll make every effort to verify before doing this again. There was a marina pump just a few feet away from where I picked up the boat; I should have witnessed the renter performing a refill before I took the boat. Maybe it would only have taken a half gallon but at least I'd know.

Yep. The shape of the tank affects accuracy. On my pontoon the first half of the tank is 2/3 of the gas. It is V shaped and bigger on top than on the bottom. When the gauge reads 1/2 a tank it's actually 1/3. At a 1/4 gauge you better be looking for gas.
