The honest answer to this coyote / fox predator issue in TN is trapping in January - Feb right after deer season is over.

Two years ago, I trapped multiple coyotes and foxes. We had 24 turkey poults come April running around our property and had 3-5 fawns in May / June.

For various, I didn't get to trap in winter this year, I've lost 25 chickens thus far from Jan 1 to today (July 1). Trapping in winter & early morning tree stand sits year round will be the ONLY way to combat the laws against night hunting here in TN. It's also our only chance we have to increase the deer / turkey population.

I've never had a problem killing them during the daytime. I know guys all across the state that pile the up without a problem. Killing them in the daytime is harder and actually requires a little more patience and woodsmanship. There's nothing I rather hunt than coyotes in the daytime.
That's impressive, I have a buddy in Georgia that has no problem stacking them up at night but he will come to TN after deer season and hunt with me during the day and we seldom see a coyote. He killed 2 or 3 last year and is of the opinion Night hunting is way better. I'm going to send him this thread.

I like how in this thread we have folks who view every locale and terrain as identical with regards to nocturnal vs. daytime yotes... Very logical...

I know guy's who hunt in every part of this state with good success during the daytime. Not sure what your point is but if you can't kill them during the daytime it just shows you don't know how to hunt them. Night time shooting is definitely easier but it's not hunting.

Even when they disguise themselves as bobcats and foxes they don't get away.:)

I don't know much about coyote hunting but I'd like to get more into it. I've shot them while deer hunting and I have sat out a few times after deer season but I have never gotten really serious. I owe it to the landowner where I hunt to kill all I see though now I don't know how much good it really does. He doesn't want them messing with his cows and calves.

Sorry Daniel Boone. I'd rather hunt deer and pigs. Yotes I just want gone. Not looking for a challenge like with deer. Glad you are slayin em but that doesn't happen where I can hunt em. End of the day I just want the yotes out of there as does the property owner. I hope when I get to be a real man I can be cool like you…

Is there a summer bait that could work if I get into a tree stand on my property before daylight arrives and try and get them? We've lost 4 more birds since posting on July 2.
Whatever you do don't hunt them at night. You'll be tempted to blast into every house, horse, cow and whitetail deer within a 50 mile radius.🤪

HOLY hell, GREAT PHOTOS, where is this and time of year? Nice cats too!
He is in West Tennessee and he really does absolutely put a hurting on the coyotes. He and his running buddies are some coyote killing fools with a lot of knowledge. Wish I had half the knowledge they have!!
