It's the social media culture that doesn't understand the difference between "famous" and "infamous." As long as you garner attention, either is fine.
Social media is ruining hunting and fishing. It's no longer about spending a fun day on the water with family and friends. It's about Livescoping a limit ASAP so you can post "got my limit and back on the trailer by 10!" It's no longer about sitting with your back to a tree with a mouth yelper and a shotgun. It's about remote control decoys or fanning so you can be the first with a grip and grin on Fakebook.I've noticed a trend with the evolution of social media.
Hunting and fishing is more about self promotion with many and not about the why a lot of us do it.
I guess if you consider this social media then I have it. But have never had Instagram or Snapchat. I did have Facebook for about 4-5 months when it first came out in 2009 or so. But couldn't really get into it. And honestly I don't really care what people I knew in high school are doing my 25th reunion is the 1st of October and I have no plans to attend. I haven't talked to anyone really since I graduated.I've noticed a trend with the evolution of social media.

Sure I put up pictures on Fakebook for my friends and family to enjoy but that's about it.
I'm like Ricky Bobby. I hunt and fish for ME.
I think what I was alluding to is I don't care for people who use hunting and fishing as a way to boost their egos.I guess if you consider this social media then I have it. Oh yeah just like any spec ops community be it Seals, Rangers or SF some guys just want the beret or tab or trident. Yeah I don't watch a lot of the hunting shows anymore on tv or YouTube. I do like Meateater, Pinhoti and there is a group of guys on YouTube called Blue Collar Outdoors. The blue collar guys just do a lot of pattern and penetration testing with different chokes, gun she'll combos for turkey and waterfowl. Also they do testing on broadheads.I think what I was alluding to is I don't care for people who use hunting and fishing as a way to boost their egos.
I fished and hunted way before social media.
As an ex special forces guy, I bet you had some guys that joined for the "cool guy" factor.
Same thing with hunting and fishing.
Get rid of the ways for guys to blow smoke up their own ass and the woods would be empty.
Wanna see a bunch of self righteous clowns?Oh yeah just like any spec ops community be it Seals, Rangers or SF some guys just want the beret or tab or trident. I figured it would be closer to 20KI went to the website of that hunting ranch. Looks like you could pay up to $10,000 for a deer like that.
Yeah, or a few trips to Alaska or out West to hunt fair chase.Holy cow!
I can get a real nice boat for $18,000.

Your not missing near as much as the idiot that tried that stunt. My only question and please think about it before you blast me. And don't get me wrong he is mentally challenged for not checking on the transportation regs for Kentucky prior to traveling on a hunt out of state. But why would he burn his one Kentucky tag for the year after he already purchased a "guided" hunt and an Indiana out of state license and tag. That doesn't make sense to me. But like I said he is an idiot for not checking and knowing the regs before he left Kentucky to kill a deer in a bordering state.
Or am I missing something here?
He screwed up big time with the claiming the buck on KY's site. He's busted, and knows it. Now he's just trying to save his rear end and get out without costing him a bunch more money, loss of license, or jail time for fraud.
MoneyAlright let me take this all in. This kid, Paid 10 to 20 k to kill a tame deer in a cage….THEN he took it back to KY and gave up his only tag to check it in … AGAIN? He'd already killed it legally ( not ethically possibly but legally). What could possibly been his motivation?
