Moving to the Johnson City area soon & wondering if the are any traditional archer groups around? I have been a member of the Traditional Archers of Oregon and a local group called The Adventurous Bowmen for 15 plus years & hoped to perhaps get involved in something similar in Tennessee.

Welcome to TnDeer and the patron state of shooting stuff! (Arrows included) I'm sure there are soke clubs over that way. If you look in the compound bow section at the top of the threads there's a link to a calendar with all the middle TN 3D shoots. There's a big trad shoot in middle TN in two weeks. It's over in Dickson I believe "Buckhollow". Anyhow that should give you the names of most of the clubs in the state. You could start there maybe...?

Welcome to tndeer.
It's been some time but I think there's a club call Ye Ol' Farts that is a traditional style club in the area. I'm at the other end of the state so I'm not much help.

I know it would be a drive to these two clubs but if you camp or want to stay in motels during these big weekend shoots, you may want to check out TN Classic on April 30th weekend at Twin Oaks Bowhunters near Clarksville, TN. Then check Buck Hollow Bowhunters FB page. They're near Dickson, TN.
Also, July 15-18, IBO Trade will be at Twin Oaks.

Twin Oaks would be first on my list and Buck Hollow a close 2nd. The TN Classic at Twin Oaks brings national trad archery vendors for a multi day event. Some of the best archers from the entire Southeast, and beyond, will be there. It's a very welcoming atmosphere at both clubs... the people and experience are amazing. Well well worth the drive.
