I am in the market for a new ATV this New Year. I am interested in Forum members opinions. I would appreciate honest opinions. I had an Arctic Cat 500. Due to parts becoming unavailable or no longer being produced, I find myself searching for a durable, strong off-road vehicle for hunting. Price is a consideration, but I am flexible. If members prefer to discuss this issue in private, please feel free to PM me with your thoughts, experiences, and reasons why you purchased your ATV. Thank you members.

My top 3 are:

1 Honda
2 Honda
3 Honda

I bought a Honda 300 4x4 brand new in 1999 and she still runs as good today as she did the day I brought her home. IMO it's the best 4-wheeler ever made. Also have a Honda Talon that we go off-roading in.

Thank you for your opinion. What are your thoughts on the FourTrax Rubicon?

Best means a lot of things to different people. For reliability, durability and longevity, you cannot go wrong with a Honda. I own a few Honda ATVs that start right up, and the newest one is 23 years old.

I've had them all and in my opinion you can't go wrong with Hondas, Suzukis or Kawasakis I didn't have good experiences with Arctic cat, Polaris or Yamaha

I've always loved Honda. Never had any problems out of them. Kawasaki was also pretty good in my experience. My brother had a Polaris he worked on all the time so I stay away from those but some people like them

I have a 2004 Honda rubicon and absolutely love it. The only things that are less than desirable is 1) carburetor and 2) full time four wheel drive all the time. If not mistaken the newer models are EFI and have 4WD selector switch.

really enjoy the ability to drive in automatic mode or switch to manual transmission. Very smooth and fluid in auto.

I have an 1986 Honda Fourtrax 4x4. First of the 4wheel drive 4 wheelers. Only things replaced; fuel pump (2 times), fuel cut relay (last year) and batteries (5 or 6).
I like the old manual shift over the automatics and even the newer electric shifts.
Maintenance and good fuel is the key to a long life regardless of what you get.

I am bias and own 2 Hondas. I have a 2014 Recon for the kids and a 2016 Foreman. If you want reliable and just works. Honda is the way to go. That being said..... They do not have all the bells and whistles others have. You can get more accessories and more powerful engines with Polaris or Can Am. My dad has a 1998 Polaris 500 Sportsman that has been bullet proof. I had an 2005 Polaris that was junk. Many people love Suzukis and Yamahas. You can get lemons with any brand. If I were to purchase today I would go with another Honda.

I would buy a Honda. If I couldn't find a Honda I would wait until I found a Honda. There's just no reason to buy an inferior machine. My buddy has owned an ATV repair shop for over 20 years. He says he makes a great living working on other brands, but won't own anything but a Honda.

Alaska or bust!
I have owned ATV's since 1986. Honda, Suzuki, Polaris, Arctic Cat and Kawasaki. None of them ever needed one repair and when we lived in Alaska we beat on them hard. We owned more Polaris models than others.
My current ride is a 2012 Kawasaki 750 Brute Force I bought new. Just replaced the stock battery this week.
I would not pay more for any brand including Honda. The location of the dealer, their customer support, and the purchase price would be the most important thing to me.

Read the first 4 pages of this sub section. There are more questions about issues with Hondas than any other brands. Maybe that means more people own Honda's, or maybe not.

Would probably buy another honda if I were in the market. Keep ethanol free gas in our old 04 foreman and it usually cranks right up. That being said, the tracker side by sides Cabela's and bad pro sells have my interest for side by sides.

Ive always owned hondas. I have a 2017 500 foreman now. Im not loyal to any brand i just don't want something that is going to tear up. I buy tractors, vehicles, boats, etc the same way.
