Wayne Rich, a wildlife officer from Jefferson County came down and fished with me today. He and his three sons, Hunter, Chase and Wesley. I had to recruit some guide help from my buddy, Doug Williams.

Typical morning as of late ... a slow cat bite, but we had a few quality fish topped by a 25-pounder for 14-year-old Hunter. He had the hot hand today. He smoked everybody on the quality cats. I started talking about gar fishing with Wesley and Chase and they were chompin' at the bit... so off we went. They had a ball... 14 gar in the boat and twice as many missed or lost fish.

Then we chased eater channel cats. It was just a fun day all the way around. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's several thousand. Life is good and gettin' better every day!
