As far as I know, I don't have any bur oaks on my property. Walking across the Vanderbilt campus this morning I picked up a couple of handfuls of bur oak acorns the squirrels hadn't managed to scarf down yet. I will pot them up and hopefully have some saplings to plant in some relatively open spots in my woods (I think I remember that they like a more open, savana-like environment) in a couple of years. I will never live long enough to see an acorn crop from them, but maybe my daughter will walk up on them in 25 years or so and wonder how a small grove of bur oaks came to be!
