Engine light came on, and I realized the engine showed hot, which was weird since I had a new radiator and thermostat put in last March. When it cooled down, found it was several quarts low on water. Filled her up.

Since then I have determined:
1) no water shows up on the ground where I park.
2) it loses almost a gallon in the course of a little daily driving
3) looks like some blowback is on the engine behind the radiator
4) I don't see any active leaks when I crawl under the engine even when it's hot

So does this sound like the water pump has gone bad? Strangely, I don't know that I've ever had to have one replaced despite all my years of car ownership.
Some hunt for racks, some hunt for roasts. I hunt for sheer joy; the aforementioned items are merely fringe benefits.
