I had extra strawberries and some honey on hand so I decided to try my hand at strawberry mead.

On Sunday, I mixed 5 parts water to 1 part honey, shook to dissolve the honey, and added two handfuls of whole strawberries to two, quart sized mason jars.

I have been shaking them vigorously 4-6 times a day. The amount of fizz/bubbling is pretty incredible. Also, the smell! Think of the best beer you have ever smelled with a slight hint of sweetness to it.

That's what they smell like. My wife hates it, but I think it smells great.

My plan is to continue this for a week to ten days until the bubbling has subsided and then to drink it.
