CNSNews.com) - During his appearance on NBC’s Tonight Show Monday, guest Bill Maher told the audience, “The Bible only makes sense if you're really high.”

While discussing the legalization of marijuana in the states of Colorado and Washington Maher said, “Obama - he’s the one that’s got to come around now on pot because he’s been dragging his heels on this. You know that Pat Robertson is to the left of Obama on pot?”

Yep. Pat Robertson came out for pot because Pat Robertson gets it. The Bible only makes sense if you’re really high," Maher, the host of HBO’s Real Time, said.

When audience reaction to the remark was muted Maher continued, “Touchy group tonight.”

In March of last year, Robertson, the host of The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network, came out in support of legalizing marijuana and suggested the substance should be treated like alcohol.
