This pile of deer in from our recent trip to Mississippi. My dad, Papaw, and I went down to my cousins house for some doe management. My papaw and I both killed a buck as well, but that's not the best part of the story.

A couple of years ago I was looking for a deer rifle to buy. A gentlemen I went to church with gave me the rifle in the picture. Itís a Ruger M77 Mark II 30-06. He told me he wanted me to have it and enjoy it. And enjoy it I have. The first deer I killed with it was a 70lb doe at 300 yrds. (I actually measured it) I ended up with 4 deer in 3 days.
The man that gave me the gun was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and is now within weeks of passing away. It was awesome to be able to call him on the way home to tell him the story and to thank him again for his generosity.

And now the freezer is full and I got more jerky that one family can eat in a year.
