Finally, FINALL bought a boat.
The wiring looks like a rat put it in. Wires going here, ther and everywhere, plus random wires that just stop.
Started pulling the 3 miles of electrical tape off yesterday and following the wires. Many of them need to be replaced. I know that I'm supposed to use tinned marine grade wire, but read that I could use a larger gauge asw wire. Also, as this is my first boat, I'm unaware as to where to get marine wire.
Is it ok to use automotive primary wire to rework some of this? Would putting it in a cable guard be advised ?
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
