I have a couple apple trees over 20 years old that were planted by the previous land owners.
We also have some black walnut growing around the house. I know they give off juglone which I found out is not good for apple trees.
A squirrel had decided that one of the apple trees was a good spot to eat some walnuts. So a pile of decaying and broken walnut hulls were around the tree but I removed as much leftovers as possible today.
Will some walnut hulls hurt or kill an established apple tree?
