I have been training a dog to blood track this season and would like to get a little help on the reporting process. The required process of calling the TWRA Regional office has been very cumbersome to say the least. The 800#'s don't always work, the number sometimes goes to an automated system that kicks me out. When I get a live person I am always having to explain the process of why I'm calling and that the hunting regulations require it. Sometimes I am asked to call a local official, who may or may not be availible and then I have to call the Regional Office back.

So the questions are...what are the best numbers to call where I will get a live person? Can I bypass the 800 #'s and call a particular officer? If I have made every reasonable attempt to contact the TWRA but have not talked to anyone can I proceed with tracking? Is there a number that I can send a text message or email with all the required information if an officer is not available?

A few suggestions I have are; being able to send a text, email or PM on this forum to document the track instead of calling a person. Setting up an online dog tracking check-in site like the big game check-in. Allowing people to annually register or get a confirmation number as a tracking service instead of calling in on individual tracks.

Let me end with the officers that I have talked to have been very professional and helpfull...it has just been hard getting to that point. The easier the process the more likely people will comply with the regulations.
