On one piece of ground that I can hunt, there is a large field which was entered into WRP several years ago. About 50 acres were planted, as part of the WRP, with assorted oaks and cypress trees. The trees are probably 5-6 feet tall now, however, there are a TON of cotton wood trees that are coming up on their own everywhere in the planted sections and they're as tall or taller than the oaks and cypress.
Will the cottonwoods, which are much faster growing, take over the planted sections? Is there anything that can be done to control the cotton woods? Thoughts and opinions?
