I finally broke down and took my first doe of the season this morning. That's a start and I'll probably take 5 or 6 more before it's over with.
I did a little looking around today and finally started finding lots of scrapes. In one area I had a hard time trying to decide which one I was going to hang the camera over. I had a tree picked out earlier in a pine thicket waiting for the right time to hunt it. Right where I anticipated the deer possibly entering there was a scrape about the size of a small car hood. There are single and double scrapes scattered all around the immediate area and some decent sized rubs. The camera is pointed towards a scrape and 25 yards farther is my stand. Aside from shooting a nice buck I'm really hoping I can catch him working this scrape or passing by it in front of the camera at the same time I shoot. If so it'll be on film. If not the video's running. Killing my camera is another story...
