My son is now 12 years old, when he was 5 he was diagnosed with cancer and all you fathers out there can imagine how i felt. From the time my little man was old enough to talk he always had a passion for deer hunting. I can remember when he was just old enough to wathch tv me and him would watch deer hunting shows on the outdoor channel. Eventhough he was going thru chemo he wanted to go deer hunting when he was 6yrs old so i bought him a youth model remington 243 and i was very impressed how well he shot when we practiced before the juvy hunt. The very first time i took him hunting he was very weak and sick from the chemo but was so thrilled just to be able to go and that opening evening of the juvy hunt he smoked a 4pt on our lease and he did it all by himself all i done was hand him the gun. That evening was one of the best days of my life just to see the excitement in my sons eyes of his first kill was such a blessing to me. Now my son is 12 and is cancer free thanks to god up above. Since the time he killed his first deer his passion for the outdoors has grown stronger each year and he has currently killed 12 deer now. He bought him a cva wolf last year and wanted to start mzl hunting and killed his first deer with his new mzl loader last year. This past weekend we hunted on our lease and he killed a spike and you would have thought that boy had killed a boone and crocket lol!!! just to see how excited my son gets just to be in the outdoors and the passion he has for hunting is such a blessing to me. If it wasnt for the good lord my son may not be here with me today but we never gave up and never lost faith that the lord wouldnt take care of him cause all things are possible with god even when the odds are against you. Just wanted to say to all the fathers and mothers out there hope you all have a great hunting season and enjoy your time in the outdoors with your family it is a wonderful blessing that god has given us. Im new to this site but i want to say i really enjoy the reading about everyones season and i also have learned alot so far on here. God bless you all and have a safe hunting season.
