with mature bucks, I'll say those 4.5+ but also 3.5+

I'm thinking back over the last few years on our place. We've took 5 bucks aged 4.5 or older. None were "aged" over 5.5. All 5 were killed in a core area of probably 100 acres that we got pics of them for one or two years. Very rarely did we get them outside that 100 acres.

My 7pt from this season, never ventured outside a 50 acre area, or atleast he didn't come in front of a camera if he did. The deer my dad shot the other day (11pt) was shot within a 20 acre area where I predicted he would be shot.

This even during the rut. Three of them were shot either peak rut or the late stages of the rut. Two others were shot during mzl or opening of rifle. Still in those core areas where almost all pics of them were taken.
