I have the bass pro shop brand of the block type target, with the layered foam.I've had it now for about 3 months and I shoot it almost everyday and to say the least it is wore out!My arrows started passing through it about a week ago so I put a Rachet Strap around it and tightened it as tight as i could get it and low and behold it works. It pulls the layers of foam together. It don't stop them like brand new, but it doesn't allow any pass thrus!!Gave me a little more use out of it.Just thought i'd share that with yall,im sure someone has already done it,but i haven't seen it posted.
Edited by cecil30-30 (10/09/08 03:43 PM) Edit Reason: Mis worded

i got this idea from my bro in law... get a old feed sack and stuff it as tight as you can with old clothes and staple the end together and it works like a charm for me. spray paint a little target on it and you ready to shoot.... old blue jeans are good to use. just an idea thought i would share.

The way I build a target is to get an old worn out commercial carpet and cut it into 24"x24" squares ,stack the carpet about 2' high then proceed to cut 2 pieces of 1/2" plywood ,one for the top of the stack and the other one for the bottom , then get some commercial strapping and compress the whole stack, paint a target and you are finish . shoot away!!!
