I may be moving out to Watauga Lake and I am wanting to get recommendations on crappie fishing in the lake. I understand it isn't great for crappie, but still want to give it a try. I hear Roan Creek area is my best bet?

I have caught some nice crappie on Watauga, but only at night while trout fishing under the lights. We were fishing on main lake points.

It's tough getting the crappie to bite there. The redeye usually take the bait before the crappie get a chance to look at it. The trout and walleye fishing is good there in the spring.

Several thousand stocked today at Little Milligan, but i guess you'll have to wait 2 or 3 years since they were a couple inches long.

Thanks for the update. I will PM when I know for sure. The place I am looking at is actually right next to where Roan Creek runs into the lake. Thanks for your help everyone.
