I have some producing female trees on my hunting property and would like to know if I can help them out for next year and years to come. Any recommendations, like fertilizer (all or only females), lime, or pruning other trees out around them, etc? "Thanks" Sky

i have always heard that if you fertilize oaks that it will make the acorns sweeter and the deer love them. should work on persimmon.

Old wive's tail. Fertilizing a fruit tree at the wrong time can actually make it dump it's fruit.
Removing comnpetition from surrounding trees will help.

what about the big honkin tree fertilizer spikes that you're supposed to stake out on the edge of drip lines beneath the tree?
they are supposed to be long-time released type product.
is it possible that those could mess things up too?
thanks
