TNRIPNROR...I bow to YOU sir...
...BD, I'm just going by the fact that I was first chair in the top orchestra at all-state...dude, I played Carnival of Venice my junior year of high school...and played trumpet etudes all the time that made that studio blush...tuba is WAAAY more than quarter notes. Check out a guy named Pat Sheridan sometime if you really want to hear what the horn can do...or even better, Oystein Baadsvik. Guy plays violin concertos on the [censored] thing. He's a freak. But...to be frank...I don't expect anyone to really care. I really don't that much anymore, hehe.

I feel ya dude, I was an all-stater on Euphonium 84-86, we just don't get the respect we deserve in the real world.

Bd, Dude, that's awesome. I wasn't upset man, I was just sayin' most people don't know. Seriously though, a REAL instrument...I play piano enough to get by but wish I could play guitar. I did percussion when I knocked my teeth out, and got to be pretty good on mallets. Wish I could play set.
MFBAB, Man, euphonium is the most underrated instrumenton the planet. I love playin' it. It's like the best of all worlds, which is probably why it never took off...it's TOO good...fluid and technical but powerful as well. And has such a great sound inthe right hands. And one heck ofa jazz instrument...ever heard Rich Matteson play jazz on it with Duke Ellington? Guy tears it up...

How do you keep a euphonium from being stolen? Put it in a tuba case.
What do you call a beautiful woman on a tuba player's arm? A tattoo.
What's the difference between a dead euphonium player in the road and a dead dog in the road? The dog might have been on his way to a gig.
