Bluegills, because they are everywhere, are usually eager biters, fight like crazy on ultralight tackle, and provide fillets that are just about at the top of the heap. What more could you possibly ask? Everyman's fish.

I've carried trout hooks in my tackle box simply to be able to catch minnows on the ultralight if nothing else is biting, so I'm of the "whatever's on my line" school. But to be honest, the mighty catfish has had my attention for years now, and I hope to someday be able to tangle with one that might challenge an elementary-aged child for sheer mass.

LM all day, any day, bite good, or not. I love the feeling of the hard strike the most, but love watching my line run deep not feeling it strike too.
