does anyone shot fingers anymore?I grew up shooting this way.i went to a release for a couple of years.i shot several deer with this set up but I hated wearing that thing.people act like you are an idiot now if you don't shot a release! All the bow shops I go to tell people you have to shot a release with these new bows.I hate hearing that. You can shoot any bow made with fingers.People just getting into shooting bows don't even know they have that option.i went back to fingers this year.I shoot a 31 and half " axle to axle bow.Everyone says you can't shoot a bow that short with fingers but i do and so could others.

the accuracy is much better with a release. i also learned to shoot fingers but would never dream of going back.

not every one can get a clean release with fingers. it is an acquired skill that takes practice and time. generally the longer ax-2-ax bows work better for finger shooters, less pinch. I wouldnt blame anyone for using a release on today's short bows.

Years ago I liked to watch Dan Fitzgerald shoot...no release, all fingers, no sights, all instinctive, 90lb compound...because that's how I grew up shooting. When I shoot my recurve or straight bow I wear the glove and shoot fingers...it's fun to try something different.

I shot fingers for years. The release is a tad more accurate but the fingers sure was simpler.

a release also makes a lot more noise than shooting with fingers.I don't know why it does but it adds a loud clank when you trigger the release.

as a whole, I disagree with that statement. granted some may. but if they do, they wont last long on the market.

finger shooters can 'pluck' a string and make noise.

can't. I sold my compound about 9 years ago and have gone strictly traditional. I have not owned a compound,or release, since but have shot other guys bows a couple of times just to check them out.

but, 20 years ago I worked in a proshop setting up compounds and worked there for about 11 years, mostly part time. I shot fingers and releases, listened to others shoot their bows to locate noises and to help quiet them down. that is what I based my statement on, experience of dealing with bows and releases.
