I would love for the world to fall into we can have our cake and eat it too, but alas it is not reality.
She is from a family of commercial fishers, in Alaska that is a well regulated industry and sustainable. I am sure some fishing groups will complain. As long as the management is sustainable it sounds good to me. Mining, fishing, and other activities of man can be done in a less impactfull manner.
As for the pebble mine, while I am against the idea of the mine, I have a hard time telling someone they can't have a job because of my selfish wishes (fishing)......it's a theme you may have noticed out of me....
If it goes through I hope it is well controlled, but I drive a car that needs oil, the wiring is copper, and some components are made of gold.....
Tell your wife, if you are married, no more gold and then get back to me on how well that works out.
The woman is a life long NRA memeber and comes from a family that uses natural resources for food and recreation. She and I have more in common than the lawyers from Delaware or Illinois.
I think I also read Obama has not come out against the mine.....but that information could be incorrect.

Actually it is because of how she handled the perinatal information related to her fifth child that had the most impact with me, then the anti corruption stance, pro-business, gun rights, hunting and fishing background, I just happen to think she is better looking than ALL of you holding a fish....
I have a hard time with aborting kids even if they may turn out like Tubs or BW, a child is a responsibility not a choice, IMO.

Well, if you want to vote for her based on her pro-business or anti-abortion stances, that's fine, though that would be a better discussion for the politics forum.
As far as I'm concerned, she's awfully cozy with the mining interests that are the biggest polluters in Alaska - she hasn't been in office long enough to have much of a record on conservation, but what little there is looks sorry enough to make Gov. Murkowski look good by comparison.
A handful of pictures with salmon and AR-15s doesn't undo her record.

You can walk to work if you want to. I don't. Lake Erie was basically dead when I was in grammer school. It's as alive as it can be now. If you plan your life around the environment to far one way or the other, you may as well be dead. Mother nature has a way of healing itself in spite of mankind.
Vote for a loudmouthed attorney type that has his fingers where they don't belong VP candidate or a mother of five that may be learning the political ropes that enjoys her free time in a similar way that we on this board do. Choose carefully.
