I may be able to get a great deal on one. What do yall think about this bow? Do any of you have one or have shot this particular model lately?

I almost bought this one instead of the Mathews...my son went to try it out and give me a report on it while I was at the mathews shop. He said that the bow looks great but he thought it was more ascethically pleasing to look at than workmanship sound. He felt like it wouldn't hold up. He isn't here right now or I could give you some specifics but that's it in a nutshell.

It is a good shooting bow. I have shot one but it really didn't fit my style. It does have a very smooth draw cycle though.

I'd shoot it first if you can . Buying a bow because it is a good deal doesn't mean it's the best bow for you .

I agree. I will definitely shoot it this weekend along with a couple more if I can. Most places I've talked to said that they sell these for $650.00. I may have a chance to get it for $399.00. Sounded like a really great deal as long as it fits me well.
Thanks for some of the input so far. This site has always been a great place to get well informed in situations just like this.

I bought a diamond bow last weekend. I looked at and shot the bear bow you are talking about. I spent 5 hours at the bass pro with a guy who helped me get my diamond. We shot about every kind of bow they had. We started with a bare bow and went from there. It cost me just under $1100 for everything but as for a bow set up, I have it all. Even a new case and safety harness. As for the Bear, I didnt get it because I just didnt like the "valley" in the draw. It didnt settle the way I like. I would relax just a hair and it would let go. It did have some qualities that I did like. The string dampeners (sp?) were nice. Also, I didnt care for the coloring. I know its just the look but I dont want to spend all that money and invest in something that I dont like.

No problem Coach. I wanted to leave work when I found out I could get it at that price. I hope there are some left.

I've got another question: Would you or do you use a whisker biscuit? I'm wanting to know if I do get one should I shoot 3 or 4 inch vanes?

My buddy bought Bear Element in the spring and is real happy with it.
About the whisker biscuit I prefer the 2 inch Blazer vanes but all types fletching seem to do okay and for hunting I would highly reccomend WB rest.
