We were fishing a tournament (shhhh don't tell Bowriter) last night and that little stinker boated two of the three keepers. He caught one that weighed 3.64. He thought he had won the big fish pot until some guy in a Bullet laid a 4.54 Large Mouth on the scales. We ended up taking third place with 6.14 edged out by 6.19 and 8.54. (three fish limit)
On the way home I asked him if he wanted to fish it again next week. "I don't know, we didn't win". I explained to him that he had just finished 3rd against 9 boats of grown men. Even though he didn't win he competed with some guys that know how to fish and hung in there with them. We came in third last week too with 10 boats. I am pretty impressed with his ability right now.
The amazing part is that I couldn't get him on a boat to fish before the first trip with Simms. He just didn't want to go. Now he loves it.

I don't how big it actually was but it was big. I just saw a big mouth the size a soft ball and bug eyes and it shook loose. It had the pole bent double so I would guess anywhere from 4-8 pounds.
