Ok shopping for a new bow and you go looking. First sporting good store has nice selection of compound bows and real good bow technician but its like they don't want you touching there new bows real unfriendly folks. Ok second sporting good store selection not as many to choose from they have a name brand they believe in. The technician not as good as the first store but is willing to set up any new bow for you to try and the folks alot alot more friendly. Just wondering.......

I know everyone has there favorite name brand bow maker. My first bow is a Mathews MQ32 an goodie but an oldie. Just felt like it was time to up grade. The first store is local to where i live and I'd be the proud owner of either a Bowtech or a PSE if they would have just been more helpful. The second store was 50 miles out of my way but the just the way I was treated from to time I entered the store to the time left made all the deference. I think we could all use this in life whats saying "treat others the way you like to be treated". By the way i picked the second one too. I guess you can tell I own a Mathews DXT. Thanks all for your replys great bunch of HELPFUL folks on this forum.

I would go to where the bow I want is located and it is the cheapest and buy it, then bring it home . If I needed it worked on I would do my own work. I trust my customer service.

I had the same experience at Gander Mountain in Knox. Walked in with a grand in my pocket to buy a bow and treestand. I asked the bow guy if I could demo the model and he said yes. That was the end of that. I was standing in front of him and I guess I fell off the face of the earth. I contacted Gander Mountain and the boy was fired the next day. I have not been back since. Bought my tree stand local, paid a little more but the guys were great. I never did buy a new bow. Still shootin my PSE.

Same here , I have always done my own bow setup . I would pick the proshop that had the best selection , and pick the bow I shot best , not pick the proshop .

Don't let a proshop dictate what brand of bow you buy . Pick the bow you like the best , then search for the best deal .
Then learn to do your own bow setup .

In reality I would do my own work as well. I was just picking from the two options given. I have a thing with pro shops. I haven't found one I trust 100%. I have found some I really don't like. Acting like I am a bother or standing around talking with some good ole boys and ignoring me are sure ways to get on my bad side.

I don't agree Radar. I used to, but not any more. I have found there are a bunch of very good archers out there who are just simply not mechanically inclined. I hunt with guys who couldn't do a back serve on a peep tie to save their life. I also know guys who can't even figure out how to set the bow press. I am not being critical of these guys, they are GREAT guys. "Expert" shooters/hunters. They just don't have much mechanical inclinattion. A REALLY knowledgable bowsmith is worth his weight in gut piles. Even if he is a little "cratchity" some times.

I agree , bow setup isn't for everyone , but I wont ever let a proshop be a factor in the bow I choose . ;\)

I'd go with the 1st store with the good tech-guy....You ain't
there to make friends no ways...Pick out what you like and
get it...I wouldn't deal with a bunch that's pushing a specific
brand name....they are salesman, AKA politicians, etc.....BH51..
