My sister has been a volunteer for Chattanooga's Ronald McDonald House for many years. She tells me amazing stories of the trials and tribulations of families who must deal with tragic circumstances.
I donated a fishing trip for their current fundraising auction.

Seriously, it takes bids to get the most money for the charity. I could have chosen buy it now, but that doesn't offer the chance to raise even more money for a good cause.
My Max bid at the moment is $140, the bid is showing as $105 because no one has driven it higher. So Bid Bid Bid!
