Got my two standard cameras, both with hot batteries. Snapping away like a loggerhead with beautiful young model. Both Cameras died. I mean, for no reason, just died. Within 30 secondsof each other, the camers just...broke.
I had to borrow a dam camera to finish up. They are both still dead. I have a call, make that three calls in to Nikon right now. I have a feeling they don't want an award winning outdoor writer writing this story.

I think odds are you did something that made 'em both "break." 
And which "award winning" outdoor writer are you going to recruit to write that story for you????

Lefty's my hero. He wouldn't remember me, but I met him several years ago at our Trout Unlimited fundraiser in Nashville. I would be tickled to death to meet him again.

I sent the big camera to Nikon. I sent the old Coolpix to the dump. My wife had an Olympus d-500 I didn't know she had and had never had it out of the box. It works with all my software and I like it pretty well. I'll have to wait and see what the verdict is on the D-70. I'm not going to spend much money on it. The techie I finally got to talk with said it could be anything from a speck of dirt in computer to a total meltdown.

No, Taylor, what I said was, "I have been on the pro-staff for a long time. Who do I see this year about my superb Nikon cameras that I have promoted for all these years and paid almost full price for, both dying on me. Can the guys at Cannon fix them?"
So I got sent to a techie in Atlanta. He sent me to a techie in Japan and he, in turn, sent me to one in Iran. I told this one I was really feeing like committing suicide and he got all excited and said, "Can you drive a truck?"
Gil- There's a joke in there somewhere.

Gil, I was at a conclave in Gatlinburg, the first one the middle Tennessee flyfishers had I believe and Lefty was there. He was in the back parking lot giving demonstrations. A few guys jumped up to have Lefty show them a few things. Well Lefty was frustrated, evidently everyone that went to get help didn't need much, well until I thought I would try. Lefty grinned real big and told all watching that finally he had student to teach after he saw me throw one time. It was amazing how far I could throw after he showed me just a few things. I have a picture of me with him somewhere if I can find it.

Got the camera back today (Now that's service) WOW money well spent. I love Nikon....again.
