I went to the range yesterday to shoot some new arrows I fletched up. Oddly enough the 2" Vanes I shot with my 10 yard pin at 20 yards. With 4" vanes I had to shoot my 20 yard pin at 20 yards. Both gave me 3 inch groups.

Has anyone else experienced this? Another guy in the shop told me he had the same thing happen.

I am just a little puzzled since I just started with 2" vanes.

honestly, I havent had a 10 yd pin in so long I cant tell you. Mine are too close together to make much of a difference. Im assuming the 2" are blazers or quickspins...what 4" did you put on? If the arrow is gettin spun faster for one reason or another by the 2" this could make sense.

or FOC...havent brushed up on my physics in awhile, but less weight in the back could change your impact. What is the impact difference between your 10 and 20 usually?

My bow shoots so flat and fast I had to get rid of my 5-pin sight and go with a single pin. I can shot one pin up to 35 yards dead on

Are you shooting 2" or 4" vanes?

Front of Center. This is a percentage of where the balance point of the overall arrow from the actual mid point of the arrow. Most shooters try to shoot around 7-10 percent. But it has been my findings that a hunting set up shoots better...(faster and quiter) with 12-15 percent. You can go to Bow jackson DOT COM and find some helpful tools and calculator for figuring you FOC.
