browning an remington both still chamber a .280 besides ruger
Thanks for the info. Apparently Browning just came out with one in the X-Bolt rifle. The Medallion model is one i would consider, but I'm not real keen on Brownings.
Remington didn't have a .280 when I was looking this time last year, except in a Custom platform that was over $2000. The have two at $2100-$2500 this year, the Custom KS Mtn Rifle, and the Alaskan Ti, but I don't consider them standard production from Remington. The Custom KS was discontinued this year, anyway.
They have a 50th anniversary 7600 in .280 for this year, as well.
The only rifle that I see as standard Remington fare is the 700 LSS Mountain Rifle. Its still over $1000, but thats gonna be the price for a top-of-the-line gun from Big Green.

if i could find a winchester model 100 in .280 it would be my next and probably last purchase but they are few and far in between.... The winchester model 100 in 284 not 280 as the winchester model 100 is for short action cartridges only.

Jakeway, that is a Dandy looking rifle. Reminds me of the Remington youth model of today!
