I had a QAD Ultra Hunter rest fail to release and drop away . The arrow fletching caught the containment launcher arm and tore it off the rest . I promptly sent it back for a refund . I have heard of some of the pro shops having the same issues with them too .

I would not go with a QAD, the problem radar mentioned is a VERY COMMON occurance!

I was lucky that I didn't lose an eye because the launcher arm struck the back of the riser and ricocheted off towards my face .

I know this is a drop away thread but a Whisker Biscuit is the way to go for a hunting setup!

I have used several. Hands down, the best so far has been the Vapor Trail Limb driver. A cord attaches to the upper limb so that the limb actually drops the rest. Pretty much impossible to have fletching contact. The TR Dropzone was good. I didn't like the Shakey Hunter, however many people do. I have used others, but don't feel like they are worth mentioning. Never used a Ripcord, but have heard good things about them.
Wisker buscuit rests are ok, but they don't even compare to a dropaway. A good dropaway is the way to go, including for hunting use.
