Which would you buy? An input is greatly appreciated.

the Nikon buckmaster is a clear notch up from the VX1 in my opinion...the VX1 is more comparable with the Nikon prostaff from a price/features standpoint.

if you are looking for a deal, SWFA has the nikon team primos scope for $199

I'm using a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14x 40mm (Mil dot) on a Savage ML2 It tracks very well. Holds zero well. So far no complaints at all. Couple of hunnerd rounds on it so far. I'm well pleased.

I've got both, though the Buckmasters is a 3-9 and the Leupold is a 2-7.

At equal power settings, the Nikon is clearer and brighter. I haven't had the Leupold long enough to see how it holds up, but so far I like them both.

I thought I wouldn't like the "friction" settings rather than clicks on the Leupold, but now I kind of like them.

a Monarch doesn't rival a VX-II to me, much less a buckmaster.
