If anyone does it successfully, I sure would like to know your tactics.

It's pretty easy. Hang a light or use a floating light. I like to fish for them at night from a Dock. You can hang your light out on the dock. Then set up a chair in the dark. The bugs come to the light, minnows come to eat the bugs. Fish with minnows with little or no weight.

If you're out in your boat and can find docks that are lit up. Anchor right outside the light zone and drown some minnows in the light.

We've been doing it all summer,,,were fishing in the flood gates at the top of a dam in 103ft of water,,,gates are not open of course,,,it takes some time for them to show up,,,we've had to sit for several hours at a time before the bite starts and that been usually from midnite on,,,we've not really had any big numbers nights but the average fish has been 3lbs,,,12 of these make a good mess,,,but anyway,,been using floating lights and a submursable,,,fishing minnows about 20ft deep,,,been catching some big trout on worms while waiting on the crappies

If I was in crappie averaging 3 lbs each I would be happy with 5 a night. I don't reckon I have ever caught a 3lber.

We catch lots of crappie in the spring at sardis at night in the noon light. You can see the stumps well and it is productive. Come join us and God bless you. Look for a 1648 Alweld with a 50hp Yamaha..[Hole Em Good Hook And Give Me Somathing To Cook
