Just wondering those of us that night fish who uses a black light and who doesn't and why? I can't go with out mine but i've heard different stories some folks say the light follows the line to the lure. Whatcha think.

No, because I use a regular floating light.

I use them for bass fishing. The light does not follow the line down to the lure.

Depends on what lure I'm throwing. If I'm crankin, carolina rigin, or a big spinner bait, I don't use one. Just about everything else I do. I love throwing a hair fly with a No.11 pork at night and watch it falling then start going in a different direction under the blacklight.

I have read that black light is one of the first to be completely filtered out in water, so it could not follow to the lure. I use a black light every nite I go. I will use a flourocarbon leader sometimes but not because of the blacklite. I use to help in clear water so my line is less visiable.

When I fished at night 4-6 nights a week, I had a black light on each side of the boat. I must be able to see the line for the method I use at night.
