Does anybody know any other boat ramp to put a bass boat in the little river other than the one just off Alcoa Highway? I'd rather not have to put in somewhere on loudon and drive the boat all the way up river if I dont have to. I'm just trying to find somewhere on the river to catch some smallmouth. People claim its a great river for them but I have yet to see that...

The closest you are going to get to the mouth of the little river is the stock creek ramp on Old Knoxville Hwy. There may be some small ramps that go into the river, but I don't know of any that are public.
I am not sure what you heard, but when I have fished for small mouth on the little river, I have always waded or floated the river. You can take a bass boat part of the way up the river from the lake, maybe up to the Rockford dam, but there is a lot of good small mouth fishing from Walland to Rockford that is just floatable in a canoe or small boat.

good to see another maryville guy on here. We ended up putting in off old knox highway... we just have a small pea-row that we use. I was just looking for a public ramp where I could leave my truck and it be ok.
We fished from the ramp...down river to the tracks and just barely around that bend. Came back up past the ramp a few hundred feet and went back in a cove on the other side of the road by a tunnel.... only 1 fish, and it was a 1 lb. largemouth. Fished only about 1 1/2 hours
Idk what it is I'm doin wrong. As long as I have lived here I have yet to catch a dang smallmouth in the river. It gets frustrating. Got any tips?

Fluke Jrs in Ark Shiner or Baby Bass color, a small crawdad crankbait(either the small Bomber or the Rebel Teeny Wee Rs), a 4 inch watermelon Zoom Dead Ringer either split shotted or T rigged, a 3 or 4 inch grub in watermelon, rootbeer, or smoke,or a small white or all red spinnerbait. What have you been throwing and what have you been throwing it on? I have been wade fishing the Little River between Townsend and Rockford for 15 years, and have caught 90% of my fish on the stuff above. I only throw 8 or 6 lb test on a medium light spinning rod.

I've been throwing lately a red shad big dead ringers, a rebel craw( the larger one...guess i need the smaller size), red/black colorado blade spinners, storm thunder craw, and rapala skitter prop for top water(all it catches so far is largemouth).
I've been throwing it on a medium heavy spinning rod lately because my medium action snapped cuz of a big cat on telico. Using stren original 8 lb clear line. I appreciate all the help.
Tommorrow morning I think were going to put the pea-row in maybe around coulters bridge behind heritage and give that area a try

Go about a 1/2 mile up from the bridge and you will see a decent sized pull off on the side of the road. B4 you launch your pea-row wade upstream from there till it gets too deep to wade any further. There should be enough room for you to launch your boat there. If I had 1 color to throw in the river it would be watermelon.

There is also a pull off on River Ford Road. If you wanted a real short float trip you could put in above Coulter's bridge and float to River Ford Road. You could probably even walk back to your truck. I usually use the small Rebel crawdad lures, and other small cranck baits (usually in a red color). I have caught them on other lures and bait, and I am sure that any of Kimberman's suggestions would work also.
