are they in TN in numbers? Just curious. I know the state record is just over 7 pounds, but how often are they caught...

In TN I have no idea. It is my thinking that in most areas, they vary greatly from lake to lake. Some have lots, some have none. keep in mind they are also known as jackfish and in areas where they are called that, most folks don't know they are really chain pickers.

I can live with that, I was told the other day taht there are a bunch in KY lake. Yet I have only heard of one or two being caught in TN. They are a jacked up fish, they have ruined a bunch of farm ponds that I know of in PA.

Caught one on Pickwick back where Yellow Creek meets at the mouth of the Tombigbee on a white crankbait about 3-4 weeks ago. I bet he was every bit of 5 lbs. Joker was almost 21 inches long.

Isn't there someplace up Nawth where when the liquid all freezes they spear them things through the ice. What I always wondered was, Why? I aint into eating jackfish.
I bet Tubs could tell us.

Ive ate a Jack once. Came froma little different waters than most have described. Came out of a smaller swampy lake close to santee in SC.
Pretty good or atleast I thought. Not too bad.
