Couple of carps from the Cicada Mania this year. One from Douglas and one from Watts Bar. 16 and 18 lbs respectively on a boga.

Very nice! My best fishing days ever any species anywhere were during the '98 cicada swarm here in middle TN. The carp were just palin stupid, and I have only caught a few topwater since.

Do you realize that all your pictures are headless? I kind of recall your saying that you fish on company time, but do they NEVER want you to ever be able to fish? Are you on the lam? Are you in witness protection? Surely you can't be uglier than a carp? \:D

We get them on Willow flies, and mulberries from time to time, but nothing is a spectacle like cicadas as you know.

I keep hearing about the willow flies (mulberries too), but they are always rising to willows the day BEFORE I fish. They are carpeting the surface somedays, and I can't find the sippers. I sure as heck can't find an overhanging mulberry bush either.

I have been lucky a few times seeing big lips slurping the foam lines on the Cumberland. Sometimes they'll eat, but mostly they spook.

Scum line feeders are dang hard, they eat the foam best I can tell, and are super spooky. Willow flies are really hit or miss and usually draw small carp. 7mm08 took a picture of me several years ago during the willow flies that was a classic. Maybe he still has it laying around.

Mulberries were great this year, but it was going on at the same time as the Cicadas, so I never got the chance, nor did I care \:\)

Riverine carp are the easiest, they will run down a white streamer like a bass, and usually are bigger on avg. then reservoir carp.

River carp have been my go-to, although I've never tried a white streamer, never even thought of it. I'll have to give it a shot.
