It's been about 20 years since the last time I bow hunted. I've decided to get back into it this year and I need some advice on what kind of bow I should get. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, but I do want a good quality used bow that will last.

Any suggestions?

You will get 20 different answers on the right brand , just buy one that fits you and feels right in your hand .

I agree...go to the local bowshop and try a few. One is going to feel just right. My son just sold his new Mathews and bought one of the new Hoyts.

I shoot a Hoyt, but there are a lot of really good bows out there. Just take radars advice and do some shopping.

hoyt , here but at Dicks and other places you can usually pick up an early season bargain on last years model.....They have a reflex on sale now i believe which is the sister to the hoyts..
On used bows i would recommend one not older than the last 7 years as there are some pretty worthless bows in pawn shops from the last year you shot.....
The technology has changed tremendously since your last trip in the woods. There are well over 35 bow companies out there now and you can find a decent one for a few hundred dollars versus the 800 dollar overpriced ones of today....Get one that fits like the other guys mentioned above and DONT buy it if it doesnt even if it is a deal....dont buy it if you think you can switch cams at a reasonable price either.....They aint that reasonable when you consider you could have bought a new one for the price of a used one upgraded to new cams, new quiver new sight etc etc......i think you get the point....

I shoot a PSE Crrera and love it. Guy at work shoots a new Matthews every hear, Pastorbmp shoots Hoyt, My wifes cousins husband shoots a Bowtech. My point here is just about every manufacturer out there makes a very good bow. Outdoor life just had an article about the best on the market you might want to read it but you don't have to spend a mint on a good quality new bow.

If you live in Knoxville run over to Gander Mountain and they will let you shoot just about anything they have in stock. Good luck.
