I agree about the stockers in the Arkansas rivers, still it's nice to count on 50-100 fish per day with a few kickers thrown in. I'll have to get to the Caney and try some real fishing sometime soon.
Didn't mean to pile on woth the figjam thing, I really thought it was funny because of the reference on Google to Phil Mickelson being one, that was hilarious.

No harm no foul.
I agree on the fish, everyone likes to catch a bunch, but at some point it does get stupid if they are super small, or especially finless.

Dunno about Arkansas. I don't have much experience catching them, but I sure have seen some behemoths on the Norfolk. I stood in a pool one day not 20 feet from a couple of fish that were so much bigger than anything I've ever seen that I can't even guess how big they were. I was peeing in my waders. If I had hooked one, I would have folded like a lawnchair. I must have floated those midges over their noses 100 times. You could just barely hear them giggling at me.
Some folks with a lot more experience than me sure think a lot of those AK waters.

Gil, I haven't fished the Caney so I can't speak for it but if it really tops those 3 in Arkansas (which I've spent a lot of time on)it is something etremely special. The world record and #2 browns came from the Little Red and the Norfork, I'm just saying.

There is a lot more that goes into a river then just the top end fish. At least for the majority of fisherman. For ME I would rather catch a bunch of 14"-18" fish then one 30"+ fish. But that is just me, and most fly-fisherman are about the same. I have no desire to fish where the fish avg. 8"-10", it just isn't that enjoyable to me to catch something that doesn't pull back. But then again we are all different people, and everyone like something different.
I am not saying AR isn't good, but there is better much closer to home.

For people in West TN, AR is closer to home. If I lived in East TN, I don't think I'd make the trip to AR unless it was just to hang out with friends/family. There'd be no need to go to AR for trout fishing when Middle TN and East TN (as well as VA or NC) has just as good trout fishing.
