All I was saying is that I don't care whether anybody reveals anything on-line, and in the same vein, don't judge me for taking that prerogative. Find a place nobody knows about, and keep it to yourself. Go there only by yourself, and enjoy all that fun you're having by yourself.

I invent a fly pattern (or not) and post a photo and tying recipe, then tell the world on this site exactly how to fish it, then tell everyone it works on the Duck River for smallmouth. Next thing I know, people are telling me not to post that information. Like they own the Duck or something.

I'm going to do it without any guilt whatsoever, just as many have done for me on this sight. In fact, I will take great pride and pleasure in it, so those that judge me might as well get used to it. If they don't want to teach or be taught, fine by me.

I like your style.

Way warm and way shallow.

Hate to say it, but most of the time I am on the river I am the guy who might say hello but nothing more. Not that I am an azz or anything (well I am) but I just like to be left alone unless someone is paying for my services.

I have been in and around this areas trout rivers for eons and am very well known so it isn't uncommon for people to want to hammer me as to what I am using and how.

I stick to fishing mostly during the week to avoid this, and never fish at public access areas for the same reason. I am happy to help, but my assistance comes at a price, and although it may sound rude and arrogant, it stems from just wanting to be left the heck alone so I can enjoy a day to myself every now and then on the river.

I love the Cumby. Had a great time up there during the cicada swarm. All dries all day every day.

I couldn`t care less what you or where ya`ll catch them trout,,I just wondered if with all the complaining about the Caney if anybody ever fished up the Cumberland,,I`ve deer hunted all up and down that river from the Wolf Creek Dam to where the river comes under the road back towards Celina and from the looks of some of the stringers them guys had,,there are trout up there..

Lots and lots and lots of trout. It sometimes poses problems for the flyfisherman, though. Because of the river's size, it takes such a long time for the water to dump out to make it wadeable (or at least manageable with a fly from a boat). That's not the case right now, but it is normally the main concern. A boat is almost a necessity usually just to get to where you can wade.

Mr. Big - it's also a phenomenal striper fishery. I haven't targeted them up there, but I know many who do. I have casted at dozens that I just happened to see while fly trouting. I hooked 2 but couldn't turn either one of them - spooled me, I grabbed on to the end of the line to save it, and SNAP!

A whole different subject, but I've deer hunted many times in KY but not near that area. I'd love to do some surf and turf trips up there this year but don't know where to deer hunt. Is there public land near there?

since the leases went through the roof and gas at what it is I aint been up there in 3 years..some big tracts of BIG woods up there,,mostly because its soo steep logging would be a pain, but they are slowly and surley cutting it up too.

Decent buck??? Geeesh!
I know we're totally hijacking this fishing thread with blood letting. I may just look into public land nearby. Little camping, little trouting, little hunting, awesome!
