Looking to buy new aluminum boat in the 16 to 18 foot range. Hearing good things about War Eagle, G3, Titon, Express, and a few others. Any advise on good dealers in central or eastern TN would be appreciated. Preferably in or around Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga. Leaning towards Merc or Yamaha on the engine (70 to 90 HP) and still on the fence with consideration of 2 or 4 stroke.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

My reccomendation would be C & O Marine in White Bluff outside of Nashville. I live in Athens, AL and I got tired of listening to and seeing first hand the way dealers around me treated their customers. I went to C & O and they treated me like they wanted me business. They wanted to know what I wanted in a boat and not just show me the most expensive thing on the lot. I bought a 2008 Stratos 294 XL with a 200 ETEC HO from them. When I got it home I noticed a bad spot on the bottom of the boat where the plug is. I called Todd at C & O and asked what we could do about it. He made a call to Stratos they picked it up the following Monday fixed it and brought it back to me the next day Tuesday afternoon. Go see those guys they sell XPRESS and War Eagle. Tell Todd nathan Ezell sent you up there. Thats where I would go first.

Hands down, G3. Madisonville Marine in Madisonville. I have a HP 200 and love it. They have a huge selection of different sizes.

I have owned 2 G3's, but I have an Xpress right now. I dont think you can go wrong with either one. I had a factory defect on the first G3, and they really stand behind their boats. They bent over backwards to make me happy. The G3's rode better in rough water, but didnt turn very well. The Express could be better in rough water, but turns on a dime and jumps on plane. Either way you will be happy.

I've drove all the way from Memphis to go to C and O to buy two boats. If you live in middle tn and are not dealing with them then you have no idea what you are missing. They are the Lake Hill Motors equivalent for boats. IOW they are a high volume dealer. Largest stratos and war eagle dealer in the country. Call and talk to Todd Morgan. He will get you any setup you want. I've had my war eagle about six months now and I'm very pleased with it.

i looked at EVERY aluminum boat on the market while shopping for 2 years. i tell ya, polarkraft is THE BEST built aluminum boat for about 2/3 the cost of war eagle or G3.

Thanks to all for responding. I think I've narrowed it down to G3 or War Eagle. Polar Kraft might also be an option. Right now driving Chrysler Pacifica with 6 cylinder so weight is important. Another important factor is that 80% of my fishing will be me alone so I want something I can handle getting in & out of the garage and at the boat ramp. G3 Eagle 175 with a Yammie 70 or 90hp is currently top choice but I am going to research this for another 2 or 3 weeks and try & make a decision.
Also need to consider 2 or 4 stroke but leaning towards the 2 stroke to save wieght.
Thanks again everyone.

Does anyone have experience with the G3 vinyl? This is the only boat I have seen with this option. One dealer told me that the only disadvantage is that if you like to fish barefoot it can get hot. But he said its very easy to clean.
And again, thanks for all of your input.
