You did say in TN, right? I don't know about the best but Tims Ford was good to me this year late winter, early spring for smallies, I caught 3 over 5 lbs. I probaly have to say Dale Hollow would be your best bet for smallies but, I'd wait til late winter, early spring. Unless you take a night trip.

South Holston, early-mid spring.Watauga and Boone at night in Nov. and Dec. with a blade and jig.......

Dale Hollow, Dale Hollow, Dale Hollow...did I mention Dale Hollow.. fall, winter and spring..best small mouth fishing and it gets better every year.

No need to pay a guide, just come to northeast TN. We can catch them in the winter, spring, summer and fall. We have South Holston Lake and several rivers to choose from. Also, as a couple others have mentioned, Dale Hollow is a great fishery.

Ever sit in 20 degree weather during the day and ripped a spoon on Boone? When they hit, it feels like you latched on to the bottom!
