so you havent seen Gils fox mount?  .i wonder if it was a reproduction or live fish that were used,dont they have foam that they use to put the skin back on when they do a real mount?.mike243
It looks like a reproduction, and if it is, well then it is doubly bad. If it is a skin mount it is just bad, awful paint jobs. Crappy scene, lumpy mounting, pour use of a form.
Nothing positive can be said about this piece, it is flat out horrible.

Those are skin mounts and are crap.... and why you should look at peoples work before you take it to them...those are just horrible and I try to never say anything bad about what another taxidermist work looks like...but come on...they are garbage and look ten times worst then gils fox did...
and just because someone uses a foam body doesn't mean it is shaped right and/or will fit... they have to be bought right first and if these are bought they are wrong and if they are carved they ain't right
adds new meaning to you get what you pay for

FROFL, I'm trying not to laugh loud enough to wake the family! The fox was bad enough. I can imagine it was the same one that recently attacked the 77 year old woman and was determined to be rabid.
But the bobcat has me wheezing like an asthmatic! I can faintly hear a French accent...

Actually, I think that the fox is a pretty good mount. That is, if you can overlook the queer position! Just a case of the taxidermist being overly creative. But the work looks to be OK. Ze cat however, be another matter.

yeah gil put that fox at the same level that bobcat is, right beside each other, and you'll have only one bad mount...but really the eyes wide open and ears straight up and the nose pad shape is the only real things wrong with the fox...that and come out of the wall at an angle that is not so steep...you want it fixed...if he tanned it, used clay, and a water based hide paste its possible. if he DP'd it forget it.....the bobcat is a lost cause.
