They bought Ross archery! For Immediate Release
Eugene, OR (July 9, 2008) - Archery industry leader BowTech, has entered a new market niche with its recent acquisition of Ross Archery. Ross Archery of Kansas City, MO has manufactured high quality, reliable compound bows since 2004, and now provides a strategic brand expansion to BowTech's plan for growth. "The Ross deal was a logical step for BowTech as we strive to reach a broader audience with our technology advantages," says John Strasheim, President and CEO of BowTech. "This acquisition provides the opportunity to distinguish the various lines of bows through different technology. The new Ross line, re-designed by BowTech's R&D team, will feature the benefits of solid reliability and extreme accuracy; qualities that translate to immediate gratification for the demands of today's passionate bowhunter. With price points starting at $699, the new Ross models possess a high value for the extraordinary quality received. "We are excited about the opportunity this acquisition gives to our dealers and the avid bowhunter," stated Ross Archery's Andy Ross. "The increased marketing and brand awareness BowTech brings to the table will provide customers with the opportunity to experience continued prosperity with the Ross line." Ross will introduce two new single cam models in the starting lineup for 2009; the Cardiac 31 and the Cardiac 34. Each features a new single rotating mod system that allows for draw length adjustability without the need for additional draw-length specific modules. The Cardiac Series is finished in Realtree® AP® camouflage and features WaterDog Surface Technologies InVelvet™ finish. BowTech manufactures and distributes the world's finest compound bows and archery equipment. Founded in 1999, BowTech's corporate offices and manufacturing facilities are located in Eugene, Oregon. With a worldwide distribution network, BowTech's family of brands include: BowTech, Diamond and Ross compound bows, Octane archery accessories, Stryker crossbows, Airow Gun and WaterDog Surface Technologies. http://www.bowtecharchery.com © 2008 BowTech

I am shooting a Ross Cardiac and love the thing now with bowtech purchasing Ross it is just going to make them better. The only thing I don't like about the deal is they are making the Ross line a box store item instead of dealer only.

it worries me a little. I wish bowtech would concentrate on their line. Not that quality has dropped, but with that many forks in the salad it seems like they wouldn't be able to focus as mouch on the quality of one product. kinda goes back to the whole quality over quanity issue. Soon you'll be able to buy a bowtech or one of its sister companies bows at wal-mart.

Old news . Yep. I sure feel sorry for the guys that have Ross bows now, cause Bowtech has already said they won't warranty any of them expect starting with the 09's.. but they will give you a discount on a new bow...I bet they will.. Sure stinks for the guys that bought a Ross thinking they had a lifetime warranty, and a sorry business practice from Bowtech...:-(
Rickym you a dead wrong bowtech is warrantying the old bows to the best of their ability. Of course if you warp a riser or anything you cannot replace that because G5 has all the risers. But all other aspect of the bow is covered that is straight from the horses mouth. Take it how you want.
This from a very reliable source http://www.archeryaddix.com/viewtopic.php?t=4799

I'm sure after all the bad press they are getting they will try to do something....

As was mentioned a few weeks ago on another thread , G5 made most of the components for the Ross lineup , except for the Barnsdale limbs . G5 took over the inventory of parts after Ross went belly up . Rumor has it , they will cover warrantee issues with the newer Cardiacs made before Bowtech bought the Ross name . G5 has the Ross design as you can see on their website . I heard they may cover some of the warranty issues on the older Ross bows , because they were the manufacturer for Ross . http://www.questbowhunting.com/
Bowtech will likely cover just what they manufacture from here on out .
