arrived this morning as the water was falling. we started at one of the pull-offs along the highway(no boat). after losing 2 small browns, we decided to find betty's island. i thought there was no ramp but i was wrong. as the water was today, i think i could get my boat in there. we fished around there for about an hour with no luck. then moved to the rest area and caught several fish. 2 'bows, 3 brookies and 2 browns.

At both Bettys and Happy, even when there is no generation, if you aren't launching a barge, you can pull out onto the gravel and back right to the water. You must be able to pick up at least one end of your boat because you cannot back the trailer into deep enough water to float it on or off. But with a touch of common sense, the gravel is solid enough you will not get stuck. At both places, there is a small channel that runs to right of the ramp as you are looking at it, left as you are looking from it. You can back right into that channel.

If you happen to run across a medium AC Shiner, buy it.
