5:20 a.m. The Caney is deserted. Not one boat, not one fisherman. Not a soul from Happy to Betty's. At Betty's, four fly-flingers. By 8:30 there was no room to park.
Fishing was good with quality and fair quantity.

BTW- Simms, I met a nice couple from Chatta. Named Nichols, they came up for the trout fishing. I wish I had a video running. They were catching brookies and throwing them back, which I figured was normal. Then they told me all they could catch were the little browns and they sure wanted a few fish to eat.
When I explained the fish they were catching weren't browns but brookies and they could keep them, I thought the young lady was going to cry.
